Welcome to Ms. Gore's Space!!
My name is Marlena Gore. I am a teacher at Joseph Keels Elementary School. I have been teaching for 7 years. Teaching is my true calling. I have always wanted to become a teacher, but I did not become serious about this path until my Junior year of high school. During that year, I enrolled in a program called Teacher Cadet. The purpose of this program was to introduce high school students who were interested in becoming a teacher to the education profession. This was a two year program, and during that year I was able to go to the primary, elementary, and middle schools in my district and work with students. When I enrolled at South Carolina State University I was sure that I wanted to major in elementary education and that is what I did. In 2005, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and began working at Joseph Keels in the fall of that year.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that all children come into this world as a blank slate. The experiences and people they encounter help to create the painting of their life. I believe that as an educator, I have the power and access to add vibrant colors and textures to that work of art. I am aware of the impact I have on students and I
